Today I received my AdSense payment, and I'm sharing this small milestone. Feel free to discuss in relevant communities—no need for envy. Everyone starts from zero; persistence is key.
Common Reasons for Suspended AdSense Payments
If your AdSense payment is paused, it's usually due to one of these reasons:
- Missing tax information: Google may require tax details based on your payment country/region. Check the "Payee profile" page in your AdSense account and submit the required information.
- No payment method set: You must set up and verify a valid payment method (e.g., Western Union, wire transfer).
- Unverified mailing address: Once your earnings reach the verification threshold, Google mails a PIN to your registered address. You must receive and enter this PIN to verify your address before payments can proceed.
- Compliance issues: Google's payments team may request additional identity verification. Check your account notifications and provide requested documents.
- Self-imposed payment hold: If you manually paused payments, you need to manually resume them in the payment settings.
- Payment method restrictions: Certain methods (e.g., Russian Post) may have extra requirements. Follow the instructions in your account.
- Account under policy review: Google monitors accounts for policy compliance and invalid activity. Payments may be temporarily paused during review and will resume automatically if the account is compliant.
Other less common issues may also occur. Whenever payments are paused, your AdSense "Payments" page will typically show specific alerts and resolution steps.
Important: You must resolve all holds before the monthly payment cycle (usually end-of-month) for payments to be scheduled. Ensure issues are fixed by the 20th of each month to receive payment that month.
